Itinerary

On the day of the activity our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Urubamba at 8am. We will be driving you to the town of Maras in a journey of approximately 45 minutes from the Urubamba Valley. On your drive, you will see the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, lush yellow fields of wheat and some Quechua villages.
You will first visit the amazing Salt Mines. This place is best known as a former salt-producing center dating back all the way to pre-Incan times. There are over 6,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, that are filled daily by a stream of water.

When you are done exploring the Salt Mines, we will head to the ruins of Moray.

A fascinating display of terraces from Inca times. Moray boasts four amphitheater-like terraces. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth, in the shape of a bowl, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops as each layer offers a different microclimate thats helped plants grow even faster.

If your tour ends in Cusco, we will stop off in the town of Chinchero on the way back to Cusco for a visit to the alpaca farm.

We will also attend a demonstration on how to make beautiful natural sweaters with alpaca wool and natural dyes obtained from plants and insects.

Our tour ends in Cusco or Urubamba at 2pm at the latest.

Note: The visit to the alpaca farm only applies if the tour ends in Cusco since Chinchero is quite close to the city of Cusco. If desired, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Urubamba, the tour ends possibly at 1pm.

Great value and great service

The tour was great and the organisation was immaculate. The driver and guide were very polite, punctual and informative, the process was easy and the tour operator had a briefing call with us to give us all the timings. They also printed out all tickets for us which made every step go smoothly. The only tiny feedback point would be to send the itinerary via WhatsApp or email ahead of time, but it is such a minor thing. I would absolutely recommend it and use again!

Amazing, well planned trip to Machu Picchu

Our group of 5 did a one day trip to Machu Picchu with pickup from Sacred Valley and drop off in Cusco. Carlos helped us tremendously in organizing the schedule and all needed tickets, and he checked up on us throughout the day to ensure we didn't have any problems. Carlos was extremely responsive and quick to answer any questions, and made us feel comfortable that the trip would go as planned. Our driver Alex and Machu Picchu tour guide Anibal were also excellent. Alex was flexible and navigated different pick up and drop off points and also a pit stop to grab our luggage. Anibal was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions throughout the tour, we did circuits 1 and 3, which was a perfect combination to not only get the views up top but also be in the ruins down below. If we were to come back to Peru, would definitely use them again for tours.
