Ollantaytambo is one of the main tourist attractions in Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. It is one of the best places for tourism and tours that can be diversified by the immense range of tourist attractions that contains Ollantaytambo, with picturesque places that retain the beauty and distribution of Inca times in its streets and cobblestone roads where you can tour the city and its different services such as: hotels, restaurants, bars and parking lots that keep the same symmetry of Inca times, having everywhere the forms of payment with cards and ATMs for your convenience.

In addition to the archaeological remains within the city, you can take Ollantaytambo as the starting route to Machu Picchu, where you will find the old Inca Trail that can be programmed for two days or four days of walking, and you will rest in one of the many hotels and hostels of 1, 2 and 3 stars that has Ollantaytambo.

Willoq Traditional Community

Within all the archaeological attractions of Ollantaytambo, along with the immense flora and fauna of this living Inca people. The community of Willoq offers another kind of alternative tourism which could be called Experiential Tourism, because it offers its visitors customs and lifestyles that remained in time, in short it is one of the last towns where you can have the living culture of Peruvian ancestors. Tradition permeates all tasks and activities; from the restless child to the mature adult, the settlers have known how to practice and preserve the wise techniques of cultivating the land. The skillful women dominate the weaving on the loom and make their clothes. Children are included in the government structure of the community, because they don’t lie; the right arm of the president has to be a child.

In addition, on this route you can find pre-Incan remains such as Markacocha and a small colonial church on top of a hill, which shows once again the Spanish authoritarianism that happened in Andean lands. To get to this town we must follow the road from Ollantaytambo to Oqobamba and follow it for 19 kilometers to the community.

Patacancha is one of the communities located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas that offer the alternative of experiential tourism in the city of Cusco, for being a community that to this day are still in force their customs and traditions that have been transmitted by generations, being one of the best alternatives for experiential tourism in Peru.

Experiential tourism Patacancha, in this tour you will learn much of the traditions and customs of this beautiful place.
